Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs  May 23 My last day in senior project and it started very well. The office did a little breakfast to congratulate me for my accomplishment on the senior project. We spent that time talking about what is next for me after school. After that I started working on my senior presentation and my final self evaluation essay. Then I thanked the people at the office for their help during my senior project and I also got all the papers needed signed. I definitely learned a lot from them and I hope other kids get the chance to know them and the work that they do. Hours: 8:30am -12pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 22 Today was a short day since we are coming to an end. There was not too much to do today in the office. I used the time to work on my self evaluation essay and check if I had anything missing. Later in the morning I helped Tracey to finish up the itinerary for the reunion since they added more events and therefore we had to print more signs for it. I also took some time to check all my hours to see if I was up to date. After that I went to lunch and finished my day.  Hours: 8:30 am- 12pm

Week 2# Reflexion

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project Weekly Reflexions May 21, 2023 Week 2#  During week 2 I felt more confident working in the office. As I completed a few important tasks last week, this week I worked more fluently. I also attended a couple of meetings during the week that taught me a lot about what is going on behind the scenes at Proctor. Communication is one of the most important things that I have learned in the office. Besides the importance of having communication as coworkers, it’s very important to hold communications with those people that have helped the proctor community in any way. By doing this Proctor has been able to keep connections and get  help when is needed.  I had the opportunity to meet with a person that has donated scholarships to students throughout the years and also is part of the trustees. It amazed me how kind and helpful this person can be, and knowing it wasn’t the only person doing it. This  made me think about all the opportunities these people and

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 19 Today I started off by meeting with Bonny Morris and to plan out my last few days in the office and chat about my journey at Proctor. Then I finally got to see my final look at the itinerary of the reunion that I designed. Tracey printed it and I cut it in frame and it looks really nice. I spent a lot of time cutting since it’s like around 50 pages that I need to cut in frame. Then we all met in Keith's office to match family at the tables for senior dinner. After that I went to lunch and when I came back I continued working on the itinerary because I missed a couple pages and I had to print more. I finished the day working with more thank you notes.  Hours: 8:30am - 12pm 1- 3:00pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 18 Today I started my day working with some details about graduation. This time I was working with the tickets, counting and organizing them. I spent almost the whole morning in that since there are going to be around 500-800 people coming. After that I headed to lunch and when I came back I started working with some reunion signs that needed to be done. When I finished working with the signs I worked on thank you gifts.    Hours:  8:30am -12pm 1pm - 2:30pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 17 I started the day working with some mail that has to be returned to the correct address. As we are getting close to graduation we have to start working on the details about it. After I finished returning the mail Tracey told me to do the table number for senior dinner. She gave me the number and I cut them in frame and put  them in order. Then I kept working on thank you notes. After this I had to head out to go to my softball playoff game.  Hours: 8:30 am -12pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 16 Today was a fun day. I started my day working and finishing with the reunion itinerary. Then I had a group check-in meeting and we talked about what everyone has been up to and how can anyone help. After that I went to lunch and I met with one of the trustees which also holds a scholarship for students at proctor. It was really nice meeting her and getting to know why she does what she does to help other people. I would say that was the highlight of my day, and I hope more people like her keep coming into the proctor community to help. After lunch I came back to the office and I kept working on thank you notes for recent donors.  Hours: 8:30am -12pm 1- 2:30 pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 15 Today I started the day by working and finishing with the details of the bottoms for the reunion of the class of 1973. Right after I finished Debbie and Tracey explained to me what I am going to be helping them with about the graduation. I then started making some signs that are going to be used for graduation dinner. After I finished that Tracey gave another task for the reunion. As they already have the schedule for the reunion, they want to put it on a banner so people can see it. Tracey asked to do a little graphic design for the schedule, and  I was working for the rest of the day on it.  Hours: 8:30 am- 12:30pm 1- 2:30pm

Week #1 Reflexion

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  May 22, 2023 Weekly Reflexion  In the first week of my senior project I set new expectations for myself. I was going to start working in an office which is a different environment to what I am used to. When I got to the office people welcomed me very warmly and it made me feel confident. As the people at the office introduced themselves, I also got to know their roles at the office. Each of them and their roles are very important for the success of the school. This first week as I got to know the roles and responsibilities of the people in the office I also learned their goals as an alumni office. The goal is to keep a connection between the alumni from proctor and think that proctor impacted their life so much that they would like to help in any way. The connection they have created with the alumni have helped them to receive a lot of donations that have helped the school in different ways. Also I learned the different ways to keep communicat

May 12

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project Daily Blogs May 12 I started my day going to breakfast and then headed to the office. I started working on the thank you notes that I left off yesterday. Then before lunch Bonny, my project mentor, took me for a walk around campus. We walked through the buildings that were built off campaigns and donations. I learned about the importance of recognizing the people that helped during the process, which is also a common manner. I learned about how the campaigns to raise money works and how long it takes to make things like this happen. Besides that I learned a little about the history of proctor. It is very impressive and remarkable all the work that these people do behind the scenes. I would say that was the highlight of today. I then went to lunch and came back to the office. Then I finished the day doing thank you notes and organizing what is next for the details for the reunion.  Hours: 8:45 am- 12pm 1pm- 2:45pm

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 11 Today I continued working with the athletics Hall of Fame project. I had to fix some details about it and then I finished. I completed my first important task and I felt good. After that Tracey shared with me some details about the reunion that we are going to try to work on tomorrow. Then there was a check in meeting with the office and I finally got to meet Lauren Smith, who is the director of the alumni office. I would say that was the highlight of today as I felt that they were including me on their team. Then I went to lunch and after I got back I started working with some mail that had to be re-mail with a different address. Then I finished the day making the rest of  the survival kits for the reunion project.  Hours:  8:45am -12pm 1-2:45pm

May 10

Paloma Garcia Rosado Senior Project  Daily Blogs May 10 Today I worked with what I left yesterday and finished with the bottoms for the alumni. Then my mentor told me that there was some stuff to do and that I could do either of them. I could start writing thank you notes to the people that donated money to proctor, start working on other details of the reunion, or start working with the athletics hall of fame. I decided to work in the athletic hall of fame. For this one I had to look up pictures of the people nominated to the hall of fame in the green lantern book. After this I started working on the thank you notes. Then I went to lunch and after I got back I continued. These thank you notes are not a priority so I started working on other details for the reunion. I had to make minis survival kits for the people coming for the reunion. I have to make 75 and today I made 60. I spent the rest of the time after lunch making them. Hours: 8:45am -12pm 1-2:45pm

May 9

Second day and it’s supposed to be a busy one. I went to the gym in the morning at 6 and then headed to the office. Tracey has some plans for me today, so I am excited and willing to help with anything. I first started doing packages for the parents that missed the events and sending them thank you notes too. After that I went to lunch and when I got back I started working on the reunion project. I’m going to be helping organize the reunion of the class of 1973. I started working with pictures of the alumni that are coming and putting them on bottoms. I finished my day working on that project and I am expecting to continue it tomorrow.  Hours:  8:30am-12:30pm 1-2:30pm

May 8 Blog

First day of my senior project in the alumni office and is off a good start. Today has been kind of an orientation day, so I am meeting new people and getting to know their roles and responsibilities in the office. It has been really nice knowing that there are a lot of people, other than the people in the office, contributing to our daily life at proctor. So far I learned a lot about the networks that proctor has with the alumni, alumni’s parents and current students' parents. Proctor is about the relationship and I am learning the work these people have done between those relationships. I finished my first day doing a little activity. I hung appreciation posters for faculty since this is faculty and staff appreciation week. I went all over campus to different departments and to places that I have never been to say thank you for what they do for proctor. Hours: 8:30am -12pm 1 -2:30pm
